I have been a fan of Shea Moisture for about 10 years now. Since then, their line has grown dramatically. I love just about everything I’ve tried from them, but one of my favorites has to be their kukui cream cleanser.
One of the first things I noticed was the smell. They use a blend of essential oils for fragrance. They don’t list which oils they are using but wow! I’ve never smelled anything like it. It has hints of floral to me but not in an overwhelming way. If you prefer unscented products, this may not be for you.
The texture is very smooth and creamy. It feels like silk on your skin. This is a cream cleanser so it doesn’t foam. Don’t worry though it’s a good thing! You want a cleanser that’s going to work with your natural oils and not strip them from your face. Don’t let the lack of foam fool you. The first time I used it, I was amazed at how deep it cleaned. My face felt incredibly clean and soft.

EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetic Database
Reading the ingredient list on products can be really overwhelming. With all the difficult to pronounce names, it can be challenging. The good people at EWG‘s Skin Deep have developed a cosmetics database with the consumer in mind. Just search for any ingredient or product, and they’ll tell you how toxic (or not) it is. This includes scientific articles. This is such a valuable resource for anyone looking to make the switch to natural beauty.
What is your favorite cleanser? Is there a product you’d like me to try and review before you buy? Let me know in the comments!
